Here are my final reading stats from 2022


Books finished:  243.  This was by far a record.  My previous record was 193 in 2018.  Last year I read 145..
Pages read: 74,393.  This is also a record.  The previous record was 69,137 pages in 2019.   Last year was 51,824
Average # of pages per book: 306.  This was a record low for average pages per book.   The previous low was 314 in 2015.   The highest average number of pages per book was 420 in 2013.

I read authors born in 38 different countries:  1. USA: 104, 2. England: 61, 3. Russia: 15, 4. Canada and France: 7.   Last year was 26 different countries.

I read authors both in 39 different USA States (incl DC):  1. New York: 20  2. Jersey: 16  3. Texas: 12,  4. California: 11,  5. Illinois: 6.   Last year was 31 different States.  
   
I read books with titles starting with 25 different letters of the alphabet.  The only one I missed wad X.

I read authors with last names starting with 23 different letters.  I did not read Q, X and Y

I read authors who won the Booker Prize (6), the Nobel Prize (12) and the Pulitzer Prize (10)

I read the most books published in 2019 (17) the newest book was published in 2022 and the oldest book I read was published in 51 BC

My average rating of books was 3.9 (last year was 3.8)

Since I've started tracking the number of books (2005) I have read 2002 which means an average of 111 per year.   Since I've started tracking the # of pages (2008) I have  read 634,325 pages at an average of 42,288  per year at an average of 346 per book.

This years goal is 120 books.
