Desert Music


I can see the values
So long cherished,
So long held dear -
Evaporated.

When life was gentle,
Security the key,
Time enjoyed -
Harried.

There once was harmony,
Tunes so clear,
Melodies so fresh -
Disonence!!

This was written during the performance of "Desert Music" by Steve Reich. My first exposure to his music which led me to becoming a huge "fan" of his.
